As "Goth"

You can ask 10 different people gothic, and they will all give you a different answer about what it really means to be goth. Because there is not really an answer. Some might say that is a state of mind, but someone really knows what exactly? When the new Gothic age started, it was a way to stand out. The art and music, was all there before you decide to dress as they did. Just like the black and red, are not "goth", the colors, but many consider them today.

When it comes down to it, just be yourself. Most would say it is the most part to be goth. Being able to stay out of the norm, but in a way that appreciates the darker side of art, music, style and ECT .. So maybe this is what people mean by being a "mental set". Yet, he does not say anywhere that you have to love classical music or movies bloody. And the styles that the great Gothic shops as "hot topic" does not really represent what you should wear to be goth. Standing outside, and not following the crowd, is an important part of it. That's why I'm not going to tell you to wear black, start listening to Marilyn Manson, and write poems about how life sucks. Yes, that pretty much makes the whole community Gothic, except for the 10% calling for the rest of the sheep listen to Marilyn Manson. But one of them does not necessarily make you gothic.

Perhaps reading this because you share the same interests, attitudes and / or emotions of the Goths, but your afraid to express it. The word poser is constantly thrown around by people who consider themselves "goth". But put down like any other, is a way to feel more important and better than those who are judging. And in fact everyone is a poser. None came from the womb of the mother dressed in black with a mohawk. We start from somewhere, they all do. In the locker room and do whatever he wants, regardless of what those actual posers might say ... It makes you really stand out from the norm, also known how to be goth.
