Security of information to dispose of a computer

If when you get rid of a computer believes that the information in it is not important .... Think carefully, now one of the most booming crime is identity theft, it generally is based on data theft, which commonly occurs when hackers steal information from internet sites and information that are practically in computers gives both of them falls apart. It is therefore recommended that when you dispose of a computer to ensure that no information or take place where it is recycled offers the security and confidentiality of information that may be on the computer, ie the company simply where recycling is sent to delete computer handle the information found in this and to ensure that nobody can recover it.

In the event that you worry a little more for the security of the information before disposing of a computer to make sure the hard drive is deleted, permanently deleted using applications that are recorded, as there are programs that clear information on their devices, but as they say, just for being encimita deleted and this can be recovered with programs that specialize in getting the information that was erased and the fact that specialize in this, not mean that they are hard to get on the internet you can find them easily and in less than 5 minutes will be using.

Browsing the internet I found some applications that can help you to permanently delete information from your computer, thus ensuring that sensitive information you do not get the wrong hands.

Among the programs I have found are: DBAN, Disk Wipe, Eraser, these programs use the delete instructions set out in regulations for the destruction of the United States government information, as nice of them is that they are free, other measures security that can be taken and easiest is to use a hammer repeatedly on the hard drive, obviously using the necessary security measures as safety glasses and gloves to avoid injury.

So donate or recycle your computer equipment you no longer want in a responsible and make sure no one gets more of what you want to, removing information correctly.

Interesting fact:

In 2003, two MIT students purchased 158 used hard drives at various locations and they found more than 5,000 credit card numbers, medical reports, detailed personal information and corporate financial information, and several gigabytes of personal email and pornography in those discs.
